It's an autumn day and I was just sitting on my computer looking for something to do, while searching for jobs and what not? It was the middle of the Irish recession and I was purely concentrating on my Fantasy team for the Premier League fantasy game. It wasn't doing it for me though, I was looking for something new. Then, I started talking to the likes of Potty and Pathetico Morbid. They were playing this new Fantasy game called MLS Fantasy, I had never heard of it before, or most of the players for that matter.
I decided that I was going to get involved. I wanted to play something new, something that I didn't know much about. I decided to create a Twitter account to go along with that, I followed the people in the know. People like MLS Fantasy Insider, MLS Fantasy Boss, Mike Dat Tiger etc. I wanted to learn everything I could about MLS and MLS Fantasy. I knew some of the players, the players who of course came across from Europe, but mainly the Premier League. The likes of Kevin Doyle, Robbie Keane, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard etc.

I wanted to do the best that I could and I enjoyed the fact that the Fantasy game was very much different to the likes of the Fantasy Premier League game. There wasn't any chips to have to think about. So, I took my mind off of that and the fact that there was double game weeks a lot of the time, I liked that because, I generally love double game weeks with your captain able to score double the points. This, of course meant that most of the time that your captain got 20+ points and your team would invariably get extremely close to going over or go over the 100 points mark, which was of course fine with me.
Now, one thing that I did not like about the MLS Fantasy game being in Ireland, was of course, the time difference, having to deal with making transfers so soon after one round of fixtures finishing, before the next round starting, was a real pain. Sometimes, well more often than not, I would miss the deadline by a good number of hours or just forget about the round starting altogether, which meant that usually I would curse myself out of it and my team wouldn't be in the best shape going into the round.
Invariably, because of this I would simply stop playing because either I couldn't be bothered to try to keep up with things or FPL which was the bigger game would take over my thought process. I would try to do the best in that game and not MLS Fantasy. This season, well next season, I want to be different, I want to be better at MLS Fantasy and thus, win the game overall, or at least do the best that I can.
That's why I am using this offseason and the Autumn and Winter season's to reinvigorate myself and my mentality when it comes to MLS Fantasy. I'm going to focus more so on the League and it's players and bring how I play FPL to MLS Fantasy.
So, here we go!
